The artwork Aura draws inspiration from Walter Benjamin’s philosophical essay The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, which explores the concept of “aura” — the unique presence and unrepeatable essence of an artwork. Taking this as a point of reflection, the artist creates a circular composition with multilayered, embedded structures to investigate the tension between mechanical reproduction and authentic perception. Visually, the piece presents interwoven layers and shifting light, yet its true spatial depth and rhythm cannot be captured through an image alone. Only when viewed in person — as light, shadow, and perspective interact — can one truly experience its elusive aura, the living soul of the artwork that transcends form itself.
