“Astrolabe–Libra” draws inspiration from the ancient and intricate astrolabe—an early scientific instrument once essential to astronomers, navigators, and astrologers. Revered as a tool for exploring both the heavens and the unknown, the astrolabe embodies humanity’s timeless pursuit of knowledge, order, and balance.
The sculpture is composed of seven concentric layers, each forming a concave circular disc made of 32 precisely crafted steel segments. These layered rings echo the form of a celestial compass, suggesting the measurement of star paths and the harmonious flow of cosmic movement. At the center lies an abstract interpretation of the Libra constellation, created with stainless-steel spheres and solid curved rods. The structure represents balance, fairness, and the quiet elegance associated with Libra.
Finished in a mirror polished and matte PVD black-steel tone, the artwork exudes both subtlety and depth, reminiscent of a tranquil night sky. Whether displayed in a contemporary interior, a commercial setting, or a curated art space, “Astrolabe–Libra” introduces an atmosphere of cosmic tranquility and symbolic harmony through its refined geometry and celestial inspiration.
